Headteacher Welcome
Welcome to The West Grantham Church of England Primary Academy, supported by the Diocese of Southwell and Nottingham Multi Academy Trust.
Our primary aim is to deliver an excellent education that empowers children and equips them for an aspirational future of life-long learning. ‘To champion and rejoice in those we serve, creating an environment where excellence is achieved and potential fulfilled’.
Our school family holds a special place in my heart, the children fill me with pride and I am proud to be a part of a hard working team that strives to achieve the best for each and every child. Our school places no limits on what can be achieved, ensuring opportunities are not restricted by a lack of self-belief or by circumstance.
Our curriculum is bespoke to our school community, which provides our children with the opportunities to learn about themselves, their community, their values and the wider world to ensure they can make the most of it. The development of cultural capital is a key ingredient to a child being successful in society, their career and the world of work. Our curriculum driver ensures the accumulation of knowledge, behaviours, and skills that a child can draw upon and which demonstrates their cultural awareness, knowledge and competence.
It is a privilege to be the Headteacher at The West Grantham Church of England Primary Academy, I am proud to serve the local community, we encourage and welcome visitors to see our school for themselves. In this morning's Values Assembly, we said goodbye to two amazing members of staff - Miss Green and Mrs Battersby. Some tears were shed (both staff and children), but we'd just like to wish them both the very best in their new adventure! They will be soley missed.
Mrs McGibbon received SNMAT's Above and Beyond award for her exemplary support to both the children and staff of our school. Congratulations Mrs McGibbon, truly deserved!

The children have enjoyed taking part in decorating a wooden egg for the Easter trail at Wyndham park that is taking place on Saturday the 30th of March.
The children and staff who have all contributed to decorating this egg have worked incredible hard, we hope you enjoy finding the giant egg on the Easter trail. It would be lovely to see some pictures of you taking part 🙂

Last week saw the end of our term long learning about Space in Science. On Friday 15th March, in Leicester, we saw a scale model of the International Space Station and we ended our unit of learning by building our own using the recycling materials that had been donated. Thank you, we had great fun building our models.
